The Visitor – December 30, 2007

Here and There – December 30, 2007
by Wes Price
We never cease to be amazed at the generosity of our brothers and sisters at Jefferson Boulevard. Thank you for all the generous gifts during this holiday season. We never feel worthy of your thoughtfulness but we know that it comes from a genuine and sincere heart filled with your thankfulness for our efforts to serve you in the faith. We will never forget you for your love.
And thank you also for the gracious way you received my sermon on Sunday morning. Somehow, it seemed to be so appropriate for the season, but little did I know that it would also be appropriate as we saw the unselfish way you bestowed your gifts on us.
———————
Our evening service at 5:00 p.m. will be our “Fifth” Sunday singing to close out the year of 2007. Remember that we will only be having these special singing services when we have five Sundays in a month. The other Sunday nights will be a regular worship service. Our second Wednesday evening singings will continue as before but with a little different format. Jacob and I will share the responsibility for teaching new songs and working on improving our singing over all. We believe all will profit from this new format.
———————
We were so pleased to welcome three new members into our fellowship on Sunday morning with prayers on their behalf for their restoration to faithfulness. I mistakenly informed you that they attended the Cotton, Texas church of Christ, but in fact they were members at the Cottonwood Church of Christ in Grand Prairie which is no longer in existence.
My wife and I had the privilege of visiting in their home this past week and enjoyed getting better acquainted with them. Jimmy and his son Travis are big game hunters and they have the trophies on the walls to prove it.
The Watsons are also close neighbors to the Swansons who live only a couple or three doors down from their apartment.
If you have not met them, please do so and welcome them into our fellowship.
———————
Mack Lyon’s lesson on Sunday, January 6, will be “When Jesus Comes.”
Much is being said in the media and print ministries about “end times.” We are frequently asked why we do not preach more about it. This program will not only comply with those specific requests, it will supply the honest inquirer information he cannot learn from the aforementioned programs and publications.
Join Mack on Channel 27, KDFI-TV, at 7:00 a.m. Sunday mornings every week. Other valuable programs are available also and you’ll find the time and place elsewhere in our bulletin.
———————
I hope you will join me in the Daily Bible Reading program. We have
schedules available to you to use that generally require a couple of chapters from the Old Testament and one from the New Testament. You will find it very beneficial and spiritually uplifting. Copies of the schedule can be found on the table in the foyer.
———————
As we come to the end of 2007, there is one other special request I have of all our members. Please check back on your weekly giving and see if there are any Sundays you may have missed your contribution by being away from our services. If you find that you have, please make a special effort to make that up next Sunday. This is not an appeal for anything except to encourage you to keep your pledge of giving weekly to the work of the church at Jefferson Boulevard.
I find it very encouraging to have members who are going to be out of town to leave the contribution with one of the elders so that a gap does not occur in their weekly giving. We also have some of our shut ins who mail their contribution regularly and we are very grateful for their remembering their responsibility.
Our prayers for you are that you will have a healthy and prosperous new year and that you will show your gratitude by your gracious giving as well as gracious living.
———————
On Wednesday evening, January 2, we will begin a new study series on the Parables of Christ found in the gospels. This will be a combined teaching effort by all of our Bible class teachers. If you have not been attending on Wednesday evening, why not give it a try. You’ll be blessed spiritually and your faith will be strengthened.
The same thing is true of our Sunday afternoon services. So many of you don’t come who could and we believe your presence would be of immense value to others who come. And your knowledge of the Bible would be increased, not to mention a growing faith.
In a recent e-mail from Martha Spicer, she asked us to remember her father on his 100th birthday. She didn’t give the date, but I know he will be blessed if you send him a greeting card as soon as you can. His address is: Mr. J. E. Edmond, 2305 Estaline Dr., Florence, AL 35630. Pray for Martha’s safe return from there.

Reflections by Jack Armstrong
Oleta and I went to see sweet Carmen McMillion this week and I want to tell you when you go over to see Carmen she lets you know real quick how happy she is to see you! We were doubly lucky because Sylvia was there with her, and Muriel had just left to go to work. I want to tell you in all my years I have never seen two more dedicated or loving daughters than these two.
Things also don’t seem right without Ada Couch on that back row in the middle section. Vertie Lee Stanley and Connie are two more we miss.
Oleta Landin and Lillian we have been missing you, too. Happily, they were with us December 23rd. Of course we miss all of you who haven’t been able to be here for a while. Our family is just not complete when your not here.
Wes had two articles in our Visitor from Bros. John Gipson & Lewis G. Hale last week. You should read the articles if you have not. These two fine men always have good Christian viewpoints to offer us.
Well folks, it’s been great visiting with you again, and we’ll see you next time the good Lord willing.
Remember our Goal…. “When Duty Becomes Desire”

Here and There
by Wes Price

We are grateful today for visitors who have come to be with their family for the holiday season. I hope you will greet them warmly and make them feel welcome. We will include them in our prayers for a safe journey home and wish them a Happy New Year!
———————
On Wednesday evening this week, we will be having a special devotional to close out our year of studying in the Old Testament. We will be focusing on songs that feature themes from the Old Testament which serve to give us strength and guidance as we look forward to the beginning of a New Year. We hope you will come and join us for this final Wednesday service of the year.
In keeping with the holiday season, please note that our offices will be closed on Tuesday, December 25, and on Tuesday, January 1.
The Men’s and Ladies Tuesday Bible classes will resume on Tuesday, January 8.
———————
The Seagoville Church has invited us to join them on Friday night, December 28, at 7:00 p.m. for their annual year-end singing. The church is located in Seagoville on 510 North Kaufman Street. For those who love to sing, Gene Edmonds sends a special invitation to be present.
———————
Mack Lyon’s final lesson for 2007 will be “Today Will Be Yesterday Tomorrow.” Isn’t that an intriguing statement. Join him on Channel 27, KDFI-TV at 7:00 a.m.
With the changing of the years, we are reminded again of the fleeting nature of time. The title for this message says it well. It comes from an article by a gospel preacher who is very dear to me and one for whom I have the greatest respect. His name is Willard Collins of Nashville, Tennessee.
———————
Don’t forget to take a good supply of the 2008 calendars to give to your friends and family members. Not only will it be useful for the year ahead, it also contains a brief summary of the plan of salvation on the reverse.

REFLECTIONS
by Jack Armstrong
Do you ever just stop and wonder where in the world all the time goes? Seems like only a short time ago that we left the Mt. View congregation and came to join the folks at the old Sunset CoC, and I might add we were welcomed with open arms and really made to feel at home. That has been 16 years ago, can you believe it? Maurine came over first to check things out , then *Ollie & Jo Morris, *Dottie and I, Charlie & Nadine Brown, Tom Duvall, *Sid & *Rosie Burk, Otis & *Pat Cunningham, Albert & Cynthia Estrada, Bonita Douglas, *Mary Heather, Lewis and Bonnie Hinton, *Lorene Holland, Oleta Landin, Jean Lovell, *Alma Reeves, Mary & Sam Martin, *Dewey Alsup, *Virginia Shelby, *Merle & Ruby Williamson, *Willie & Mary Russell, Lucille James, *Earl and *Leota Drummond, Gail Griggs, *Marion Marshall, Martha Lauderdale, Magdalena Gonzalez; then *Lloyd and Alletha Lee came after he retired from full-time preaching at Desdemona. I’m sure I have probably left some off, but with all of us and 5 or 6 years ago we joined forces with our dear brothers & sisters from Edgefield we’ve seen some great times here at the ‘ol JBCoC!
Sometimes we think of our beloved preacher as just our preacher and teacher, and one who spends hours visiting us in the hospital, but he also spends lots of hours preparing special events for us making sure everyone has a way to worship service if they desire to be here, and when some of us are a little slack in our service he pays us a visit or a call to see if he can be of some help. Besides all this he still finds time to take care of his elder duties and believe me that’s no small chore in itself.
Folks we want all of you to know we hope all of you have happy holidays and a prosperous and healthy new year, which is right on top of us!! Let’s all make a New Year’s Resolution to attend all the services this year that we are physically able to attend. And we know that there are quite a few here who are just not able to be here at times, but anyone who needs a ride just give us a call.
Oleta and I want thank all of you for the beautiful Christmas cards and speaking of giving, we have changed our plans for Wes & Alma Faye’s gift this year. We have decided to put it on a more personal basis by individual giving, if you desire.
Hope all is well with all of our shut-ins, we love you and miss you. We’ll try to get by to see you more in 2008. Let’s all congregate in 2008.
I sure have enjoyed visiting with you via our Visitor and prayerfully we’ll keep on doing it in 2008. See you later the good Lord willing.

Our Holiday Party was indeed a great success. The food was good (yes, I know some of you were less than satisfied, oh brother!, we can never satisfy everyone), the fellowship was outstanding as was the entertainment with Joe Hancock and his guitar. My wife and I enjoyed having them in our home for Saturday night and the whole church was blessed by his message at the morning worship. Those of us who knew him and heard him preach here as a student in Brown Trail School of Preaching could see the great progress he has made these four years since graduating. We wish he and his wife, Sharon great success in their work with the Hallsville, Texas church.
A special thanks to all of you who helped out in the kitchen and especially to Alletha Lee for cleaning up the dining room.
Now that’s a good way to close out the year with our fellowship time.
———————
There is a plentiful stock of 2008 calendars on the table in the foyer for you to use to give to your friends. On the opposite side, there is a simple step-by-step explanation of the gospel plan of salvation. It will help someone find the truth, so let’s get these out. Don’t be afraid to take a handful for distribution. We never know when some simple thing like a calendar will be just the thing to open the door for someone who is searching.
———————
We have suspended our “Friendspeak” program until after the first of the year. We advised our students on Sunday evening of this plan and they assured us that they would be back to resume the studies on Sunday, January 6.
———————
We are continually warned this time of year about various scams that are being used to take advantage of our senior citizens. Please be advised that all of us are open to such efforts. Resist the temptation to get involved in any of these, either by phone, e-mail or door-to-door. Don’t release any information to anyone about your Social Security number, or your bank account number. Check it out.
In addition, please remember when you are shopping to pay close attention to your purse or wallet. Don’t leave any packages in view in your automobile and be sure your car doors are always locked when you are driving on the streets.
Then there is the home itself. Don’t leave home without making sure all outside doors are secured. Even then our homes are vulnerable. We were very distressed to learn this week that C.B. and Doris Henry’s home was broken into and a large number of valuables was taken. Please keep them in your prayers. We’ll keep you posted about how we may exercise “active pity” on their behalf.

THINK ABOUT HIS LOVE
“Tis the season to be jolly,” we are told. Shoppers are bustling about, driving
to and fro, picking up gifts for family and friends, mailing out greeting cards and making plans “to be home for Christmas.” Special music fills the cold, crisp air, and smile after smile creeps across the faces of those we meet. Children wait in eager expectation of what is to come, and excitement continues to build.
Mothers and grandmothers are busily engaged in preparing the special meals of the season. Delightful odors in the kitchen cause the mouth to water in anticipation of good things to come.
On the streets the greeting “Merry Christmas,” is heard time and again, and “Joy to the World” fills the airwaves.
Now admittedly, no one knows the month of Jesus’ birthday, much less the exact day, but it was an earth shaking event. The Bible speaks of this momentous turning point in the history of the world in these words, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father.” This occasion caused both men and angels to rejoice in the long ago, and its echo has permeated the universe from that hour to this.
Talk about love! “For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.“
O worship the King, all glorious above,
And gratefully sing His wonderful love.
In the midst of all of the activities and bustles of the season,
Think About His Love!
John Gipson

CHRISTMAS IS REAL
We do not know the birth date of Jesus but we do know that he was born. It is not important that we know when. I had a dear friend that was not sure of his birthday, no birth certificate was ever filed and no surviving family members knew for sure, but we all knew he was born!
Even if we knew for sure the correct date for the birth of Jesus, the Bible nowhere tells that it should be celebrated! Yet, many people celebrate December 25 as though it were the exact date. Most people that I know do not celebrate Christmas as an act of worship to God but simply as a national holiday. It is a wonderful time to spend with family and maybe other friends.
Neither does God tell us to celebrate the advent of a new year but many of us go to New Year’s Eve parties.
Whether or not you celebrate Christmas with religion in mind, it is still real. Thanksgiving Day is real. Nothing has to be ordered by God in order to be real.
Acceptable worship must be by the command of God. It must be regulated by the word of God. May we never confuse our holidays with the worship of God.
The Christmas season is almost upon us. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season, the gifts you want, the family get-togethers and whatever else that is right.
It should never be a time for drinking alcohol, carousing and wild parties. Our whole conduct the year long should be moral and honorable.
Lewis G. Hale

REFLECTIONS
by Jack Armstrong
While sitting here writing my column I sometime like to reflect on things that have taken place here at the corner of Jefferson Blvd. just off Hampton Road and down the street from my “’ol Alma Mater”, Sunset High School. Several of us here attended that fine old high school such as: Helen Jones, Bobbie Vivrett, Maurine Fleming, Baby Jones, Yours Truly, our beloved, departed Cecil Ethridge, Byron Rhome, Jerry Rhome, Abe & Lou Barnett and many more. These are just a few who come to mind!
Before Lloyd Lee took over I remember when I was a semi-young fellow and used to mow the grass and trim the hedges and had to mow the lot where the Medical Clinic now sits. Now that was a real chore. I had to tie a rope on the push mower to mow the steep slopes. One day I was out there sweating up a storm and our preacher stopped by and visited with me for a spell and told me it was guys like me that kept him doing what he does, ‘course he always knows the right thing to say at the exact right time.
I remember when Clinton White, Jimmie Morris, and I used to go upstairs and count the collection, sort it out and have it ready for deposit on Monday, and believe me everything had to be just right for Clinton, and he’s the one who eased me into the coordinators job all those years. He was 82 years old back then and I was only 70 or so, but I couldn’t keep up with him. He and his wife Margaret were two of the sweetest Christian folks I’ve ever known. It was always a great pleasure to go down to the “Pecan Plantation” where they last lived, for a visit. Margaret always brought out some of Clinton’s rhubarb pie, that he took great pride in. Then there was Glen & Helen Payne, Roger & Inez Schrum, George & Veona Barker, The Lyons, all the Willis Clan, Gaston & JoAnn Adkins, the Benedicks, the Tysons, Cecil & Arta Ethridge, the Gammons, all the Hintons, and all the others who are not with us anymore who we love so much. It gives me great pleasure to reflect back on all the great times we had with all those wonderful brothers and sisters in the Lord!!
Around this time of year we think of one of the hardest workers in preparing things for our annual Christmas get together, and any time we had something going on, sister Louise Lawrence, our dearly departed sister we all loved deeply as we do brother Paul, who is a mainstay of this congregation, as he was at the Edgefield congregation. What a wonderful example they set for us all!
Well folks we’ve run out of space so we’ll see you next time the good Lord willin’, and we sure enjoyed having Joe & Sharon Hancock with us at
the Holiday Party and December 9 at the worship service.

The Visitor – December 16, 2007

Here and There
by Wes Price

Shoppers are bustling about, driving to and fro, picking up gifts for family and friends, mailing out greeting cards and making plans “to be home for Christmas.” Special music fills the cold, crisp air, and smile after smile creeps across the faces of those we meet.
“For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.“
O worship the King, all glorious above, and gratefully sing His wonderful love.
In the midst of all of the activities and bustles of the season,
Think About His Love!

Lewis G. Hale

We are deeply indebted to Joe Hancock for being with us following the delightful entertainment at our Holiday Party yesterday. I know we will be spiritually blessed by his message today and we can say we had a part in his preparation to this great work of preaching the gospel. We participated in his support while he was a student at the Brown Trail School of Preaching. He has been preaching for the Hallsville church since graduating and his work is complemented by his lovely wife Sharon.
And speaking of our holiday party, wasn’t that great. Help me thank our decorating crew, Charlie and Nadine Brown, Jack and Oleta Armstrong, James and Ann Schoolfield and my own wife, Alma Faye. Surely the sight of those beautiful decorations will set your mind on the coming holiday season.

Let me share a few changes that the elders have set before us for the remainder of this year and into 2008. We will be limiting our singing sessions on Sunday to months that have 5 Sundays, hence the “fifth” Sunday singing. Our Wednesday evening singings will remain on the schedule for the second Wednesday of each month, beginning in January. We will use the Wednesday night sessions for working on learning new songs and overall improving our worship in song. Jacob and I will share that time in leading the songs.
The schedule for the remainder of this month will be as follows:
December 12, lessons 21 and 22 of Richard Rogers
December 19, the final lesson from the Richard Rogers series
December 26, we will have a devotional worship using songs from our hymn books that feature and highlight lessons from the Old Testament to complement our studies there.
Beginning in January, we will begin a study of the Parables of Jesus for our Wednesday evening sessions.

The Brown Trail Church of Christ will be hosting their 31st Annual Ft Worth Lectures on January 13-16. Copies of the program are available from the table in the foyer.

Join Mack Lyon for his message on Sunday morning on Channel 27, KDFI-TV at 7:00 a.m. Sunday, December 16. He will be speaking on “Will God Always Bless America? Mack writes: “Our program on November 18th, encouraged thanksgiving for God’s blessings on America. If we learn anything from the history of Israel in Old Testament Scriptures, we know that when they forsook Him, and worshiped other gods, He withdrew His blessings. So, we wonder, will He always bless America? How long?”

Saying Versus Doing
Mark Brinkerhoff said, “There is no such thing as a born hard-worker, a born salesman, or a born genius. We are all born ignorant, with innate underdeveloped abilities. What we do with these underdeveloped abilities is up to us. You can’t afford to merely let things happen. If you want to be successful, you have to make things happen.”
One of the outstanding features of the Book of Acts is the fact that Luke did not record the good intentions of the New Testament church; but he did record many of their good acts. Instead of thinking about what should be done, and arguing about the best way to do it, they were motivated to put their thoughts to work. There can be no doubt that this was one of the primary reasons for the growth enjoyed by the early church.
A church that has put its intentions to work has little time for discord among brethren. Unconcern and lukewarmness are unable to get started. Trouble just does not have any place to start. Abilities used will bring more opportunities for service; unused, they soon lose their power.
An aqueduct was built in Segovia in A.D.09. For 1800 years, that aque-duct carried sparkling water to hot and dusty Segovians. About the turn of the century, thoughtful Spaniards decided that the aqueduct should be preserved for posterity and should be relieved of its age-old labor. So, they laid modern pipe-lines and stopped the flow that for all those years gushed and gurgled in the aqueduct. Soon after this the aqueduct began to fall apart. The blazing sun dried the mortar and made it crumble. Its stones sagged and fell; soon it lay in ruins. What ages of service could not destroy, idleness rapidly disintegrated.
“Doing” is continually stressed by the Lord. James declared: “But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man is blessed in his deed” (Jas. 1:25).

REFLECTIONS
by Jack Armstrong

We had an unexpected surprise last Lord’s Day, 11/25/07. Our Mary Taylor was here for a visit, and as usual it was so good to see that pretty smiling face!
Lots of our folks were out for one reason or another and it is understandable with all the flu, allergies, and cold weather. We’re just glad for those that were there.
Wes had a good lesson on “Left-Overs” and “ThanksLiving.” We were glad to see Jacob back directing our song service.
Several of you came over and told me you had emphysema for several years, and I want to tell you it was a consolation to me to know I’m not alone in this dilemma. I guess if a man like the old Apostle Paul could live with all the problems he had to go through I can make it too! If we just look around, our problems are really nothing compared to what some folks have to endure. When I used to fuss to my dad about some small problem I was having, he told me the story about “the man who complained about having no shoes ’til he saw a man who had no feet.” Well as Tom Duvall says “’nough said”!
Looks as though the old cold weather is finally sneaking in on us, but since this is the end of November, guess it’s about time!
I sure hope my little young’uns’ on my bus have some warm coats. It almost takes an act of congress to get them to wear them. The boys think it’s macho to come out in the cold with no coat and the little girls come out fully clothed with coats and all, which proves once again who the smarter sex is! When I see some of those little ones come out in the bad weather with no coats, it just breaks my heart, but you just can’t do for all of them.
The bad weather kept our “Friendspeak” folks in on 11/25/07. We only had 2 show up, but as Bro. Wes or somebody there said, “we wouldn’t have had even 1, if we hadn’t been there.
Our good friend, Jean LaPine, is back home after a stay in the hospital and is doing better, and for this we are glad!
If any of you know where there is a magnifying glass that sits on a desk like Bro. Ramsey Wright used to have, please let us know. I checked with his nephew, Bill Werner and no one seems to know what happened to Bro. Ramsey’s magnifying glass.
We hope and pray all is well with all who can’t be with us for all the services. We love you and miss you! See the rest of you this week if you are able.

This is the count-down to our annual Holiday Party. If you have not made reservations for the party, please do so by Wednesday of this week. My goal is to have every able-bodied member of the Jefferson Boulevard church present for this great event. We have some who have paid extra so that any who think they cannot afford to attend will be covered. All you have to do is tell me and we’ll make sure you can come. No one else will know and those who paid extra so others could come won’t know either. Joe Hancock is excited about coming to be our entertainment, so we’ll have a delicious meal and a fun time listening to his singing and playing. DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT MISSING IT!

Mack Lyon’s lesson on Sunday morning, December 9, will be “Forgiveness.” Everyone needs to be forgiving at times. Likewise every soul knows his frequent need to be forgiven of offenses to God and other people. Therefore, this message ought to have universal appeal. Be sure you hear it. Join Mack on Channel 27, KDFI-TV at 7:00 a.m.
———————
Our Ladies and Men’s Bible Classes will continue through Tuesday, December 11, and then will be dismissed until January 8. This will provide us extra time to get ready for the biggest family event of the year.
———————
Our “Friendspeak” program is still struggling, but we have not missed a single Sunday without at least one student. We are praying that others will join us for this good effort tonight. I’m sure the holiday last week affected our attendance since we were missing some of our more regular students. Keep this effort in your prayers.
———————
Quite frequently I include an article written by Lewis Hale of the Southwest church in Oklahoma City in our bulletin. Let me share a most recent one with you: It’s entitled, “A Way Out.”
He writes, Recently I heard Mack Lyon the “Search” program. He read from some of the documents of our early history of Thanksgiving proclamations. He did so to show that forefathers were profuse in their references to God and to Divine Providence. He had a powerful lesson.
As l listened to brother Mack, it occurred to me, There’s more than one way to skin a cat.
Our leaders in government have made a concerted effort to remove God from our lives. They have banned prayer in public schools. Bible reading is not allowed. Cities are not allowed to have a cross displayed on public property. Public offices cannot have a display of a plaque with the Ten Commandments. The list goes on and on.
But, what if school superintendents and principals and maybe even the
teachers, should decide that in classes they will have a reading of those documents. I have a feeling it would be very difficult to prosecute anyone for reading those in

Christmas is only a little over four weeks away, believe it or not. It is too commercially profitable for God-haters to remove. I think it is here to stay. It is too bad that money has to be the motivation for leaving some things alone.

REFLECTIONS
by Jack Armstrong

Well, for the second time this year I rushed out and brought all of our plants in because of a threat of freezing weather, and as I did so I thought to myself, things like this cause us to react right now, because we know the outcome if we don’t make a move before it’s too late. Why can’t folks see this in their lives, the way they live each day, live so they will be prepared for the most important day of our lives, “Judgment Day”!
Get the young ones up and get ready for church service on Sunday a.m., Sunday evening, and Wednesday evening and sit with them and read the Bible together and pray together. Not just at meal time, but at other times when they are all together. Oh, how I look back and wish me and mine had done more of it. It’s something I think should just be a part of our natural way of doing things. The order of our lives as I see it should be, Lord, Family, and Country, in that order. The reason I am pointing this out is so our young folks will not make the same mistakes we did and always put our Lord first in everything they do!
In other places we’ve gone to worship I’ve heard folks come out and make the sad statement, “I just didn’t get a thing out of that sermon, or out of that service”! Or, I thought he never would get through, he just carried on and on (and maybe he was only 5 or 10 minutes past what they thought he should preach). People with an attitude like that, need to have an attitude adjustment.
It was so good to see our dear friends, Cloyce and Kay Jurecka there with us last Lord’s day, 11/18/07. When I see them I always thing of our sweet departed Estelle Mclarty who was such a dear friend to us all.
To me this is one of the best holidays we have in the year. Lots of family together, lots of good food, lots of football, and a chance to remember those who are less fortunate than us in our prayers and deeds.
We were all so happy last week to have Don Hartbolt come to be baptized into Christ and to join the fold here at JBCoC. Let’s all make him feel welcome and get to know him better.
